Responsibilities:

Strategy Development & Execution

  • Lead the development of medium-to-long-term strategic business growth plans, identifying market opportunities and business risks.
  • Partner with product, distribution, digital, and risk teams to translate strategy into clear, actionable initiatives.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and consumer trends to keep business strategy relevant.

 

Business Planning & Performance Management

  • Design target operating model for alternate distribution channels to scale up B2B2C customer acquisition
  • Drive annual budgeting, target setting, and rolling forecasts for the Consumer Banking segment.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards, scorecards, and management reports for local and regional leadership.
  • Analyze portfolio performance, customer profitability, and channel effectiveness to inform decision-making.


Project Management

  • Lead key strategic business growth projects, ensuring effective project governance and risk management.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams, monitor milestones, and ensure timely delivery within budget and scope.
  • Champion best practices in project management, documentation, and change management.


Cross-Border Business Development

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow cross-border business flows within the ASEAN region, leveraging CIMB’s strong regional presence.
  • Work with regional counterparts to develop value propositions for ASEAN customers with cross-border needs (e.g., wealth management, property financing, remittance).
  • Build strategic partnerships and networks to drive acquisition of new cross-border customer segments.
  • Support the implementation of regional marketing campaigns and customer engagement activities.


Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and influence business decisions through clear, data-driven insights.
  • Develop strong working relationships across business units, operations, finance, compliance, and regional teams. 
  • Help build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Requirements:

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field

 

Relevant Work Experience

  • 8 – 12 years of relevant experience in strategy, business planning, project management, or business development in consumer banking; offshore banking and ASEAN exposure is highly valued

 

Competencies/Skills

  • Solid understanding of Singapore’s consumer banking landscape and cross-border opportunities within ASEAN and Greater China 
  • Proven ability to lead multi-functional projects and deliver results in a matrix environment 
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and financial modelling skills 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage in senior leadership 
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
