Transportation Dispatcher

Bluegrass Dedicated is currently looking for a Transportation Dispatcher to join our team in Bowling Green, KY. This position can open doors to any career path in transportation. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish a good working relationship with assigned drivers
Monitor service, track and trace to manage on time pick-up and delivery
Proactively communicate with customers in regards to service delays and general questions
Handle urgent situations in a professional manner
All other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large volume and critical delivery parameters
Human relations skills
Ability to creatively solve problems as needed
Exhibit sound and accurate judgment
Strong time management and organization skills with great attention to detail
Demonstrated PC aptitude including knowledge of Microsoft office and Excel
Knowledge of DOT and CSA regulations
Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.

You’ll also need to have:

Strong Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Minimum of 1 year of experience in load planning or dispatch
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Great attention to detail
Experience with carrier tariffs, bill of ladings, freight invoicing/auditing and classification of freight
Proactive and positive attitude
Ability to manage multiple priorities at once

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma is required, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is highly preferred
At least 1 year of office experience is required. Minimum of 1 year of transportation or logistics experience is highly preferred.
