United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring a Development Officer to join our team. As a Development Officer, you will develop and build relationships in the community to address the health and human service needs of the community through United Way Miami. Develop and maintain various fundraising initiatives to include corporate, employee, and individual fundraising.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Execution of the campaign process that consists of but is not limited to campaign strategizing, volunteer recruitment, training, and management; individual and group solicitation; individual and account cultivation, management and customer service; active promotion of corporate giving, individual giving, Leadership giving, planned giving, volunteerism, United Way Signature Event Fundraising, Community Connections, and labor participation.
2. Development and execution of workplace program initiatives that consist of but are not limited to workplace social service delivery, information and referral, and volunteer development.
3. Collaborate with the Major & Planned Gifts team to identify major and planned gift prospects within an account to create, cultivate, and solicit donors.
4. Prepare team reports that include but are not limited to: team summaries, all facets of goal setting, tracking sheet maintenance in Andar, loaned executive evaluations, and call reports.
5. Responsible for conducting public speaking sessions for organizations, events, and donors.
6. Conduct prospective donor meetings and steward existing donors through frequent communications and relationship building.
7. Manage loaned executives assigned to the campaign team.
8. Data management- strategically implement reports into the fundraising approach, utilization of United Way’s customer relationship management tool, Andar, and maintain data quality and integrity. 
9.  Work closely with team members, including administrative, marketing, and engagement teams. 
10. Manage an account portfolio to include goal setting, donor stewardship and cultivation, and individual solicitations. Responsible for developing campaign and donor communications.

Requirements

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements: One to two years’ experience in sales, marketing, fundraising, volunteer management, or related field. 

Technology Requirements: Intermediate Word. Beginner Internet Explorer, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Point and Andar

Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Public speaking, understanding of people, ability to adapt to changing situations, ability to understand and analyze industry trends, sales ability, computer skills, basic math skills, and negotiation skills. Spanish language not a requirement, but helpful.
