Accounting Lead, Google Public Sector, Controllership

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
• Experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a focus on Revenue (ASC 606) Accounting in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (active or inactive).
• Experience working for a public company controllership (in technology) with broad responsibilities.
• Experience supporting government contracts as a Deltek Costpoint user.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies within relevant accounting and financial systems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

About the job

Google Public Sector (GPS) Controllership is the accounting function supporting Google Cloud's US Public Sector business. We develop and implement processes that enable economies of scale. This includes creating unique accounting flows within GPS and optimizing Cloud Controllership processes.

In this role, the GPS Controllership Accounting Lead is responsible for ensuring that the Google Public Sector legal entity can consolidate its results for processes and systems that exist outside of the standard Cloud accounting processes (e.g., Deltek Costpoint). This includes the development of processes to enable transactions to be accumulated and reported correctly as well as processing said transactions. This person is able to bring their industry experience to a mission focused tech company to enable our business to grow compliantly and profitably.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$183,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Generate accounting entries in Deltek Costpoint to support GPS close.
• Develop accounting processes for new business motions and products specific to the public sector business.
• Partner with public sector sellers and finance leaders on agreement shaping to achieve desired financial outcomes.
• Perform control activities to ensure GPS financials are reported timely and accurately.
