Accounting Director

Location: Lexington, KY


The Accounting Director is a key financial leader responsible for overseeing the core accounting functions and plays a critical part in strategic financial planning within Everent Health Inc. and its affiliates. The incumbent is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis, financial controls, audit management and tax reporting according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), state, federal and internal policies.  

  

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

· Manages all daily accounting operations and accounting information systems including general ledger functions, asset accounting and financial reporting. 

· Assists with the timely preparation and accurate monthly financial reports such as statement of financial position, statement of activities, cost-per-day analysis, prior period comparison, and budget analysis, summarizing current, past, and projected financial information.

· Oversees reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a defined schedule to ensure accuracy of accounts and internal controls. 

· Reviews journal entries monthly to ensure accuracy. 

· Manages asset accounting recording keeping and reviews for accuracy. 

· Manages the reconciliation of development revenue and restricted giving recording according to GAAP. 

· Develops, implements, documents and maintains internal controls procedures to safeguard company assets. 

· Leads annual financial audit for Everent Health Inc, and its affiliates.

· Prepares and files all applicable federal, state, and local taxes, as well as other IRS required reports. 

· Collaborates closely with the VP of Finance, CFO, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, Payroll and Pace, and organizational leadership to provide information to shape operational decisions.  

· Participates in the budgeting process by providing financial insights that impact outcomes. 

· Leads departmental and supports organizational efforts in integration of key financial systems, data collection and reporting automation initiatives.

· Streamlines processes and workflows to enhance department performance and cross-functional collaboration. 

· Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for all entities, supporting both internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors, bankers, regulators, and grantors.

· As needed, supports mergers, acquisitions and incoming affiliations through due diligence and integration planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years of financial management experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated experience managing comprehensive financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and internal controls.
  • Advanced technical and Excel skills to analyze complex data sets translating them into usable information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed independent decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment in support of organizational objectives.
