Chubb is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Product Development to lead the strategy and execution for delivering commercial property and casualty (P&C) products onto digital platforms within SLM. Reporting directly to the Division CUO, this critical leadership role will focus on driving product innovation and enhancing the agent experience while collaborating across multiple business functions and divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for delivering Commercial P&C and Accident & Health products onto Chubb’s digital platforms to achieve business goals. Engage external and internal users, conduct competitive benchmarking, and analyze internal and external data to assess market demand.
- Product Development: Collaborate with Product and Line of Business Managers to optimize Chubb’s existing market-leading product suite for the SLM segment and lead the end-to-end development of new products, ensuring high quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- Product & Underwriting Modernization: Leverage expertise in insurance product design, underwriting, and technology to create innovative solutions tailored to small and lower midmarket businesses, including AI/ML-driven underwriting and scalable technology architecture.
- User Experience: Deliver an exceptional user experience by designing intuitive, efficient journeys for quoting, cross-selling, and servicing.
- Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders, including Commercial Insurance Line of Business, Distribution, Analytics, Underwriting, and Portfolio Management to drive product success and ensure seamless execution.
- Performance Management: Monitor product performance, profitability, and market competitiveness, leveraging data analytics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Technology Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional squads in an Agile environment to ensure products are effectively integrated into digital platforms, meeting the needs of agents and customers.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance product development or platform/user experience design & delivery, with a proven track record of delivering both profitable growth and leading user experiences
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or related fields; advanced degree preferred &/or professional certifications a strong plus
- Deep knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting, and technology
- Strong leadership, influence and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to drive results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to inform product decisions and optimize performance.
- Demonstrated focus on strategic imperatives, outcomes, tracking metrics, data driven decision making and a commitment to continuous improvement with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Adaptable, flexible, and decisive – ability to adjust to changing priorities and demands, find creative solutions, and make decisions quickly to deliver on key priorities; Not afraid to push the envelope, strive for innovation, question the status quo
The pay range for the role is $160,000 to $225,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
