The Pre-Owned Acquisition Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our dealership’s pre-owned vehicle operations. This includes inventory management, pricing, reconditioning, sales, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the automotive industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in sales and management.


Key Responsibilities: 

 

Acquisition and Inventory

  • Source and manage all pre-owned vehicle inventory.
  • Determine pricing for vehicles to ensure profitability.
  • Oversee the reconditioning process so vehicles meet quality standards.

Sales and Team Management

  • Lead and train the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Guide the sales process from appraisals to negotiations.
  • Resolve customer issues and maintain a positive customer experience.

Financial and Compliance

  • Track financial metrics to improve profitability and control expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.  
  • Must have prior experience in used car sales, appraisal, and acquisition 
  • Proven track record of success in automotive sales management.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of automotive industry trends and best practices.
  • Proficiency in dealership management software.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and reach.
