Description
SUMMARY: Works under the direction of the Director of Integrated Health to train all clinical support staff in how to deliver quality medical care within the context of an FQHC. Participating in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and treatment to patients while also providing clinical and technical assistance to staff within the medical department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures all new clinical support staff meet initial competencies during a defined orientation period. Communicates with management about progress meeting new hire goals.
- Participates in direct training and mentoring of clinical support staff and other staff, including didactic and/or hands on training for new procedures and annually for all tests and procedures.
- Assists in development and delivers training on clinical skills such as vital signs, rooming sequence, EKGs, injections, and phlebotomy.
- Serves as first point of contact for EMR training issues.
- Works with others on maintaining training records and proof of credentials, certification, and licensure for clinical support staff.
- Provides training to improve clinical support staff performance issues as needed.
- Covers for other clinical support staff when needed for both Behavioral Health and Primary Medicine.
- Reviews charts for compliance.
- Oversees and ensures proper storage and tracking of vaccine (VFC and non-VFC) and medication inventories.
- Ensure each location’s daily duties, logs and checklists are completed accurately.
- Conducts BLS training for all staff as needed.
- Assists providers with patient office visits, including rooming, interviewing, taking and recording vitals including, pulse rate, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, blood pressure, height and weight.
- Provides counseling and health education to patients, providing necessary literature and instruction.
- Prepares, administers, and documents medications and/or procedures as directed by the medical provider.
- Documents all nursing care consistent with professional standards utilizing the agency EMR system.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Communicates appropriate information, both verbal and written, diplomatically with patients and staff, including those which may be of a sensitive nature to ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure adherence to all departmental and regulatory bodies policies and procedures including but not limited to HIPAA.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Holds and maintains an unrestricted LPN license or higher in the State of Ohio
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
- Computer competency: Must include use of work processing, e-mails and internet.
- Experience with EMR technology
- Preferred: eClinical Works (eCW) experience
- Preferred: Five (5) to Ten (10) years of Community Health Experience.
- Preferred: VFC program experience
- Preferred: American Heart Association Trainer certified (must be willing to become certified as a trainer within 6 months)
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Ohio
- Unrestricted State of Ohio driver’s license

The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Stress level can be high at times.
