Fueling Brains Education Services is a private Early Childhood Services (ECS) operator
accredited by Alberta Education and a member of the Association of Independent Schools and
Colleges in Alberta (AISCA). We specialize in early childhood intervention programs for children
accessing Program Unit Funding (PUF) and Mild/Moderate (MM) funding at Fueling Brains
Academy centers across Calgary and Strathmore.
Our mission is to deliver impactful early intervention solutions and foster optimal brain
development during the most critical years of a child's life. We are a collaborative,
multidisciplinary team of Alberta certificated teachers, therapists, therapy assistants, and brain
development technicians (BDTs) working together to help every child thrive.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Alberta Certificated Teacher to join our team as an
Intervention Specialist. This role blends the expertise of a teacher with the specialized skills of a
behavior strategist, focusing on individualized intervention planning, emotional regulation, social
development, and positive behavior support.
Working in licensed childcare settings, you will design and oversee targeted intervention
programs, collaborate closely with families and specialists, and ensure that evidence-based
strategies are applied consistently across environments.
This position is ideal for a certificated educator who thrives in a team environment, values early

Key Responsibilities
● Design, implement, and oversee individualized education and intervention plans for
children receiving PUF and MM funding.
● Conduct comprehensive behavioral and developmental assessments to identify
strengths, challenges, and areas of focus.
● Develop personalized behavior support strategies targeting emotional regulation, social
skills, and positive behavior patterns.
● Provide hands-on coaching and modeling for Brain Development Technicians (BDTs),
therapy assistants, and educators to ensure consistent strategy use.
● Adapt curriculum, activities, and learning environments to meet individual needs and
encourage participation.
● Maintain thorough documentation of progress, updating families and team members
regularly.
● Foster strong, trust-based relationships with parents and caregivers, ensuring open and
supportive communication.
● Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team including therapists, leadership, and
educational support staff.
● Participate in professional development, team meetings, and case reviews to support
coordinated care.
Qualifications
● Bachelor of Education (BEd) from a recognized Alberta institution and valid Alberta
Teaching Certificate (required).
● Experience working with children with diverse developmental, behavioral, and learning
needs.
● Strong knowledge of early childhood development, intervention strategies, and
evidence-based behavior practices.
● Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for working effectively with children,
families, and multidisciplinary teams.
● Flexibility to work across various classroom and therapy environments.
● Valid Alberta driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
● Current (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and
Child Intervention Record Check.
● Valid First Aid & CPR certification.
Work Environment Requirements
● Active engagement in early learning classrooms, including sitting on the floor, bending,
kneeling, and lifting/carrying items under 40 lbs.
● Occasional exposure to childhood illnesses and bodily fluids.
● Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution-focused in dynamic and sometimes
high-stimulation environments.
● Some evenings and weekends may be required for meetings, events, or professional
learning.
