By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing technical support for IT systems, applications, and hardware, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitoring system performance, identifying potential problems, and implementing solutions to reduce downtime.
  • Managing user access, permissions, and configurations in accordance with security policies.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to deploy system updates, patches, and enhancements.
  • Documenting system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and support processes.
  • Responding to service requests and incidents, ensuring compliance with established SLAs.
  • Conducting root cause analyses for recurring issues and recommending long-term solutions.
  • Assisting in system integrations and migrations with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Training and guiding end-users on IT systems and tools to enhance adoption and efficiency.
  • Staying informed on emerging technologies and recommending improvements to system performance and support capabilities.

What you'll bring along

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or a comparable qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Support Analyst, IT Support Specialist, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows and Linux, along with system administration tools.
  • Familiarity with IT service management practices and tools such as ITIL, ServiceNow, or Jira.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN configurations.
  • Basic scripting skills using tools like PowerShell or Python for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
  • Knowledge of database systems and querying tools (e.g., SQL) and exposure to cybersecurity principles.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
