Description

Responsible for leading a team of employees in all aspects of material handling for the assembly and shipment of products to our internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

•     Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System.
•     Communicates job requirements to employees.
•     Maintains “team” environment within area or responsibility. 
•     Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Materials Supervisor or Quality.
•     Coordinates activities with other team leaders or Supervisors/Managers, etc.
•     Maintains a clean and organized work area.  
•     Prepare jobs and stage materials for receiving dock and warehouse activities such as kanban, work orders, and requisitions; including the unloading of truck and accurate receipt of product into the ERP system
•     Assists in the training of new employees. 
•     Ensures all products are labeled and stored.
·         Maintain correct status of stock through reconciliation of negative reports and investigation of causes of inventory discrepancies.
·         Assist in the development of ways to ensure prompt delivery of goods to the warehouse and production area
·         Accuracy of all paperwork within the Materials function
·         Check incoming shipment for damage; verify correctness of materials, packaging, etc.
·         Conduct the training of employees assigned to the Materials Department.
·         Recognize dependence on assistance of fellow team members. Take on the ownership and accountability of our team’s mission, objectives and action plans.
•     Maintains a clean, organized, efficient, and safe warehouse 
•     Assist in researching and resolving inventory discrepancies; tracking scrap product.
•     Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures.
•     Performs other related duties as required or assigned.


Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Skills and Abilities•      Works with various hand and power tools.•      Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.•      Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.•      Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.•      Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.•      Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.•      Ability to install team concepts and be a believer in Team Management.-  Working knowledge of forklift operation for stand-up, sit-down, hand trucks, cherry picker, and other related equipment.  Education and Experience•      High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).•      Six months or more experience working in a manufacturing type position (preferred). Computer Skills•      Basic: JDE, and Microsoft Office; barcode scanner•      Knowledge of Computer Programs for Tracking/Shipping

Certificates and Licenses
  • Forklift Certification (preferred).

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include regular peripheral viewing; viewing length changes; close viewing with occasional accurate depth perception and distance viewing.
  • Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the need to perceive the spoken voice clearly and the need to hear warning signals up to 70dbs with or without assistance.
  • Specific speech abilities regularly required by this job include comprehensible speech.

Work Environment
  • This position is subjected to harmful environmental conditions and is located in a manufacturing type environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This position is Frequently exposed to extreme heat, vibration, and moving mechanical hazard; and Infrequently exposed to wet/humid conditions.
  • This job consists of shift work up to 10 hours per day and may be required to work overtime as needed.
  • Respirator fit testing and equipment is provided upon request of the employee.
