This exciting opportunity to be part of the Children and Family Global Division of the Orchard, specializing in the distribution and music strategy for some of the world's biggest children’s brands and artists. Learn from industry experts about how to create and market music for children, working alongside the biggest artists in the genre such as Peppa Pig, Unicorn Academy, Teletubbies and Rainbow High, as well as working on the music rollout for brands with multi-generational family appeal, such as Bratz, My Little Pony, Transformers and Dungeons & Dragons.
The Magic Star team are the leaders in the children and family music space, working with our partners on everything from A&R and track curation, through to marketing campaigns and advertising, to bespoke content capture and ideation. As part of the team, you will be supporting across all the different areas within Magic Star, with a great introduction and overview of what it takes to bring releases to life.
What you'll do:
- Shadowing the Magic Star team on a variety of Marketing Campaigns and A&R briefs
- Supporting the team with various administrative tasks, such as maintaining pitching documents and release calendars, raising POs, sorting couriers, taking notes and organising meetings with clients
- Uploading releases into the Orchard’s portal ‘Workstation’ and helping with day-to-day queries related to upcoming releases
- Leading research projects into current children trends and presenting findings to the team
- Supporting our artists and brands with DSP maintenance (playlist and visual updates)
- Attending and contributing in ideation discussions in internal and external meetings
- Working alongside our internal team to manage the Magic Star social media accounts
- Developing your understanding of the children’s music genre and how it behaves on audio and visual streaming platforms
Who you are:
- Someone with an interest in music curated by brands and artists that appeal to the 12 and under age demo (noting that music for this demo can also appeal to older audiences too)
- A general understanding of the music streaming and social media landscape
- A positive and can-do attitude, pro-active in finding solutions, great with time management, building relationships across the business and communicating with the team
- Able to work in the Sony Music London office 3 days a week
