Columbia Records is a premier frontline label of Sony Music Entertainment. Its roster features some of the most famous names in music history including Bob Dylan, Foo Fighters and Bruce Springsteen, alongside some of the finest cutting-edge artists in the world today such as Calvin Harris, George Ezra and Central Cee. Founded in 1887, Columbia is the oldest surviving brand name in pre-recorded sound and home to an array of notable singers, instrumentalists and groups. From 1961 to 1990, its recordings were released outside the U.S. and Canada on the CBS Records label before adopting the Columbia name in most of the world.

As a Marketing Intern at Columbia Records, you will be responsible for the marketing administration and coordination within the Marketing team. You will establish yourself as a point of contact for any queries relating to these areas by forging strong relationships across the business and with external contacts.   

What you'll do:

  • To provide administrative support to a team of marketing professionals, correspondence, promo stock, answering general enquiries, ticket ordering, arranging travel etc
  • Work closely with multiple areas of the business (radio, press, TV etc) as well as communicate with artists, management and third-party suppliers (where applicable)
  • Have a digital awareness. Keeping abreast of market developments, new technologies and market conditions
  • Suggest concepts and ideas, inputting into creative meetings, and the general creative process. We want you to bring fresh ideas, perspectives and examples to meetings and planning sessions
  • Create Purchase Orders for all marketing related invoices and ensuring these are assigned to the correct project and accounted for in the related budget
  • Manage project assets and assist in the digital delivery of assets to the relevant internal teams
  • Keep track of all artwork/production deadlines and ensure they are met
  • Attend digital, label and sales meetings to discuss forthcoming releases, campaign updates, etc. Take meeting notes and isolate action points.
  • Collate weekly agendas, minute-taking and circulating marketing and media campaign information with marketing and wider team(s)
  • Keep updated on market developments, competitors’ campaigns, new technologies, market conditions, interesting creative ideas, and new trends. 

Who you are:

  • Someone who is on the ball and proactive in creating their own success
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office suite
  • Admin experience in a busy environment
  • Excellent with verbal and written communication
  • Highly organised and can multi-task while remaining calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise workload, goals, targets and time, and to work independently
  • Confidently deals with people at all levels internally & externally
  • A team player who can be relied upon to participate as needed during busy periods
