Overview
Responsible for planning, designing, implementation, and support of LAN and WAN infrastructure including: installation of cabling, configuration of hubs, routers, switches, and other remote communication devices. Utilizes monitoring tools to analyze infrastructure for efficient utilization and early detection of potential problems. Provides reports on data analysis to Network Director. Responsible for establishing and maintaining standards for products and implementation practices, including Category 5, and fiber optic technologies.
Qualifications
Education:
Require Bachelor's or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in engineering preferred. Extensive job related experience with networking infrastructure may be considered in lieu of degree. CCNA preferred.
Experience:
Require three to five years experience in network infrastructure design. Experienced in management of multiple projects. Excellent interpersonal skills. Three to five years experience in communications circuits (Frame Relay, T1, ISDN, ATM). Experience with multiple topologies.
Ability to provide competent leadership and schedule the work of others.
Additional skills/abilities:
Three-four years complex cable plant design, and estimating installation in cable environments.
Certification in EIA/TIA and NEC cabling standards installation. Certification in Router and Switch configuration and diagnostics. Certification in Fiber Optic Installations.
