In this role, you'll:
Join the Network Maintenance division as a Senior Signals Engineer and this varied and challenging role will see you play a key role in ensuring the continuous improvement of the reliability of Sydney Train’s Signalling assets. You will provide high level engineering advice and support to the Maintenance Operations Manager and Regional Engineer Signals ensuring the technical integrity of Signalling assets, compliance to standards, identification and control of key risks associated to the Signalling Discipline.
You will provide technical engineering support and supervision of Routine Maintenance delivery conducted on Sydney Trains Signalling assets, as well as identify and resolve technical issues associated with maintenance work.
You will conduct technical field audits of maintenance activity and advise on corrective action to assist in the achievement of a high level of compliance with relevant standards and safety systems, and investigate/report on Signalling incidents and significant Signalling equipment failures.
Two permanent roles exist – based in Surry Hills.

About you
•Accredited as a Signal Engineer with a Sydney Trains Licence to Practice, or have the ability to achieve in 6 months
•Proven experience in Signal maintenance, construction and commissioning works in an operational environment
•Demonstrated research, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to apply them in a multidisciplinary rail environment
•Be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of maintenance engineering principles and their application to the maintenance and operation of Signalling Systems
•Proven ability to provide engineering and technical advice to all levels of the organization
•Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage with and manage multiple stakeholders and customers
•Proven knowledge of Asset Management and maintenance planning
•Hold a current NSW Class C driver’s license preferred
•Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, influencing skills and able to use systems including maintenance management systems, work processing and spreadsheet programs, e-mail and communications.
•Ability to undertake shift work on call in a 24/7 environment
