This part time role is onsite at our Fort Bliss, TX (El Paso) facility during the 2025/2026 school season. This position is for an intern who will be entering their sophomore or higher year by the start of Fall 2025.

Job Summary:

Manufacturing Engineer Interns can expect to learn production operations and the manufacturing discipline in a controlled environment.  They develop manufacturing engineering skills, an understanding of manufacturing (cost, quality, safety and schedule), and Raytheon systems and tools.  MEs build technical depth in manufacturing processes and are accountable for improvement and optimization. 

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
• Improve cycle time and lead time
• Implement manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
• Create and oversee improvement projects
• Translate engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes
• Perform hardware defect analysis
• Participate in corrective action investigations
• Gain exposure to various engineering tools and processes

Qualifications You Must Have:

• This part time position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore, year by the start of Fall 2025. Candidates must be pursuing a major in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)

Qualifications We Value:

• Experience/education with technical writing
• Experience/education with interpretation of technical documentation
• Experience with project execution
• ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired

• Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
