Purpose of the Position
Ensure financial management in compliance with internal policies and donor requirements. This includes budget planning, financial analysis, reporting, grant management, internal controls, and capacity building for teams and partners. The goal is to ensure optimal use of financial resources to maximize the impact of interventions for children's well-being.
Key Responsibilities
1. Grants and Other Funding Management
- Manage the financial aspects of projects and programs (DFID, UNHCR, WFP, OFDA, USAID, etc.) in the Gbadolite Cluster in collaboration with national finance Leads.
- Coordinate the preparation and revision of program/project budgets according to WVI guidelines, strategy, and donor requirements.
- Participate in all phases of budget preparation for new projects and grants.
- Apply and enforce the current GAM RACI framework.
2. Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Prepare, analyze, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with World Vision and donor standards.
- Conduct regular financial analyses to identify budget variances, spending trends, and financial risks.
- Provide analytical reports to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Develop financial dashboards to monitor budget performance and key indicators.
3. Budget Forecasting and Planning
- Participate in developing organizational and project/grant budgets.
- Regularly update budget forecasts based on funding and expenditure changes.
- Advise management on necessary budget adjustments to optimize resource use.
4. Internal Control, Compliance and Audit
- Ensure the proper functioning of internal control systems (procurement, payments, banking operations, reconciliations, cash accounting)
- Ensure compliance with donor rules for grants managed.
- Support management in implementing audit recommendations and monitor progress.
- Actively participate in grant audits and the implementation of recommendations.
- Review of requests to ensure budget availability before spending.
5. Training and Capacity Building
- Train cluster teams and implementing partners on World Vision and donor financial policies and procedures.
- Support training and financial monitoring of community-based organizations and partners.
6. Budget and Treasury Management
- Review and consolidate monthly fund requests from programs.
- Advise management on budget control and cash flow management.
- Ensure rigorous treasury monitoring to guarantee fund availability.
7. Sub-Grant Management
- Participate in evaluating the financial capacity of potential partners.
- Assist in planning, budgeting, and drafting partnership agreements.
- Consolidate partner budgets.
- Ensure timely disbursement and accountability of partner funding.
- Monitor partner advances and funding ensuring timely disbursement of funds and accountability.
8. Team Management and Supervision
- Supervise and mentor finance team members, ensuring their professional development and optimal performance.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to strengthen analytical and technical skills.
- Coordinate team activities to ensure effective collaboration and smooth task execution.
- Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Provide spiritual guidance, mentorship, and support to the team, fostering personal growth and emotional well-being in line with WV core values.
9. Other Tasks

Required Education
- University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or related field
- Professional certifications (preferred or an asset): ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Training in grant management or internal auditing
Technical Skills
- Mastery of accounting principles and international financial standards
- Strong experience in:
- Financial analysis
- Financial reporting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Grant management (e.g., USAID, WFP, DFID)
- Internal controls and audits
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sun Systems, SAP, QuickBooks) and reporting tools (Advanced Excel, Power BI, etc.)
- At least 3 years of experience in financial management of projects in an international NGO or a national NGO funded by international agencies.
- Knowledge of donor procedures and compliance requirements
