The Procurement Analyst will be focused on support activities that help create value across the portfolio of Logistics & Services in Mexico. This role supports the procurement team in driving process improvement, on-time delivery, compliance with internal policies, and alignment with supplier agreements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and eager to learn procurement techniques, including negotiation with suppliers.
The role will be part of the Logistics & Services (L&S) procurement organization which covers landside transportation (rail + truck), air, warehousing, depots, customs, and other value-added services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Vendor Master Data creation and maintenance process.
- Prepare purchase orders and track their progress to ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications. ]
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or procurement delays.
- Help maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations
- Support the resolution of invoice discrepancies and supplier issues
- Develop and track metrics and KPIs to monitor procurement performance and supplier compliance
- Assist in negotiating prices and terms with vendors in conjunction with category managers
- Benchmark Maersk cost levels against competition and support efforts to drive cost leadership
- Ensure high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in cost saving and optimization initiatives.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who’s eager to grow, collaborate, and take ownership. Ideally, you:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 0–2 years of experience in procurement or logistics (internships count).
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate and drive business outcomes in a matrix organization
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Willing and able to work on the field (e.g. depots or warehouses)
