The Role

As an Associate Power Systems Engineer, you will support customer projects across EMS, DMS, and GMS domains – with an initial focus on EMS. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with AspenTech OSI’s Monarch platform, supporting real-time energy software implementations for global utility clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your academic learning in power systems, automation, or software engineering to real-world projects. You’ll receive mentoring and training from experienced engineers as you ramp up your technical and domain knowledge.

Your Impact

  • Support power system modelling, configuration, and tuning for real-time energy applications.
  • Assist in GIS data extraction and distribution network modelling (DMS projects).
  • Support EMS/GMS configuration, algorithm validation, and system analysis.
  • Collaborate with project engineering teams to understand requirements and develop solutions.
  • Contribute to application development and scripting.
  • Create and execute test plans (unit, factory, and site acceptance testing)
  • Support documentation efforts (user guides, technical descriptions, release notes)
  • Provide programming support to internal teams and technical support for end users.
  • Participate in customer training and deployment activities as needed.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 1–2 years of experience in power systems analysis, energy software, or utility operations — including academic projects, labs, or internships.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and data structures.
  • Familiarity with scripting/programming (Python, C#, or similar) and SQL
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and concepts.
  • Flexibility to travel based on project requirements.
  • Exposure to electrical utility projects or energy systems.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools or distribution network modelling.
  • Experience in software testing or technical documentation.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel as needed.
