PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Supervisor, Operations position oversees a group of team members in a designated department, monitors team members’ productivity and work quality, and manages their performance, as well as uses established procedures, tools, equipment, and technologies to effectively and efficiently complete work related to inbound and outbound processes within the Distribution Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Plans and coordinates the workflow of the assigned department(s) within the DC to achieve production, quality, and safety standards, include monitoring appropriate staffing levels, reducing damages and controlling supply costs.
  • Responsible for training, developing, motivating, monitoring, tracking, and evaluating performance of team members, ensuring that productivity and accuracy standards are maintained throughout their appropriate department.
  • Evaluates and standardizes procedures to improve quality processes and efficiencies within the department.
  • Leads teams with sense of urgency to accomplish task requirements in a quality manner and timeframe assigned.
  • Exhibits a Driven Positive attitude to the team with the intent of meeting & or exceeding required results.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

  • Job requires occasional carrying, reaching, pulling, kneeling, bending, and pushing.
  • Continuous mental and/or visual attention; the work requires constant alertness in a warehouse environment.
  • Must be flexible to working overtime, which is sometimes mandatory.

EQUIPMENT USED

  • Standard warehouse machinery and equipment as well as personal protection equipment such as closed shoes, gloves (provided and recommended, but not required), black belts, and harnesses (provided – required depending on type of powered equipment).
  • Basic office equipment (computer, copier, printers).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Warehouse environment, subject to moderate temperature changes.
  • Hot conditions during summer months and cold conditions in the winter months.
  • Noise level varies and can be loud.
  • Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Very fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work outside in hot, cold, or wet conditions as required.

  • Direct reports: 15-30
  • Indirect reports: 0

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel is not required.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Associate degree or equivalent years of experience required.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in a distribution center.
  • Working knowledge of PKMS or related warehouse management systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must be Guitar Center certified to operate all powered equipment, and able to satisfy certification process within first 90 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Technology Skills: Able to navigate and learn new technology systems, equipment, and computer programs needed to fulfill communication, customer service, and business needs and expectations.

Training: Able to provide training through multiple means aimed at improving learners’ capability, capacity, productivity, and performance. Able to check for learners' understanding and follow up as needed.

 

Pay Rate: $68,640 - $76,000
