Job title: Finance Analyst – FP&A
Your new role: Finance Analyst
We’re looking for a commercially minded and analytical FP&A Analyst to join our Group Finance team. This is a great opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to gain exposure to senior stakeholders, strategic projects, and end-to-end financial planning and reporting processes in a dynamic, fast-paced business.
You will play a key role in supporting our understanding of business performance through the preparation, development and maintenance of high-quality data packs and data sets derived from complex sources. These will be used by the wider FP&A and Finance teams, including the CFO, to analyse trading performance and support strategic decision-making.
You will also be involved in the group’s budgeting and reforecasting cycles, working closely with stakeholders across the business. In addition, you'll support the CFO and other senior leaders with ad hoc analysis, including deep dives into trading trends, performance drivers, and business cases for new initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Set Development & Maintenance
Build, automate, and maintain financial and operational data sets to support analysis of trading performance and enable consistent and efficient reporting across FP&A and the wider Finance teams.
Ensure data integrity and alignment with business reporting standards.
Collaborate with Finance Systems and Commercial Finance teams where needed to streamline data flows into FP&A tools.
Performance Analysis
Support month-end and weekly trading performance reviews, including identification of opportunities to streamline month-end processes.
Assist with delivering clear and actionable insights in high quality excel workbooks and presentations to the highest level of the company, including the board.
Monitor KPIs, financial trends, and variances, flagging risks and opportunities.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Support the annual budgeting and reforecasting processes across the business.
Partner with commercial, operations, and central functions to gather inputs and validate assumptions.
Assist in consolidating and presenting forecasts in a clear, digestible format for senior leadership.
CFO Support & Strategic Projects
Conduct ad hoc financial modelling, scenario analysis, and deep dives into specific business issues.
Prepare clear and concise presentations for senior stakeholders, including Board-level packs.
Contribute to business case evaluations and strategic planning exercises.
This role will also include a limited period each year (c.6 weeks) of assisting the Group Financial Reporting team with the preparation and analysis of subsidiary financial statements.
What You’ll Love About This Role
- Think Big: Play a pivotal role in shaping the insights that drive strategic decision-making at the highest level, working with senior leaders and Board members to influence the direction of a dynamic, market-leading business.
- Own It: Take end-to-end responsibility for preparing, maintaining, and enhancing high-quality data packs and complex datasets, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and actionable outputs for key stakeholders.
- Keep it Simple: Transform large, complex data sources into clear, concise, and visually engaging reports and presentations that make performance trends easy to understand and act upon.
- Better Together: Collaborate closely with colleagues across FP&A, Finance Systems, Commercial Finance, and the wider business, building strong relationships to streamline processes and share knowledge.
What Success Looks Like
In your first few months, you’ll have:
Established strong relationships and built trust with key business partners and the wider finance teams.
Gained a detailed understanding of the Group’s activities, commercial drivers, and strategic priorities, as well as an appreciation of challenges and nuances across each area of the business.
Developed a solid understanding of the Group FP&A reporting cycle and systems, becoming familiar with key workflows, and identified processes that could be improved for more efficient ways of working.
Embraced Global’s brands, values & behaviours and passion for the business.
