Environmental Management System (EMS) Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust site-specific Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001 standards and Adani Group policies.
- Ensure effective implementation of environmental policies, procedures, and programs across all site operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the EMS.
- Regulatory Compliance & Liaising:
- Ensure complete compliance with all applicable local, state, and national environmental laws, egulations, permits, and standards (e.g., MoEF&CC, CPCB, SPCB guidelines).
- Act as the primary liaison with environmental regulatory bodies, government agencies, and other relevant authorities.
- Manage and submit all required environmental reports, returns, and statements accurately and on time.
- Proactively monitor changes in environmental legislation and update site practices accordingly.
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) & Mitigation
- Oversee and guide environmental impact assessments for new projects or expansions, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement effective environmental mitigation and management plans to minimize negative impacts on air, water, soil, biodiversity, and community.
- Lead initiatives related to pollution prevention, resource conservation, and waste management
- Monitoring & Performance Management:
- Establish and oversee environmental monitoring programs (air, water, noise, soil, etc.) to track performance and ensure compliance.
- Analyze environmental data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and report on key environmental performance indicators (KPIs) to senior managemenT.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to standards.
- Waste Management & Circular Economy
- Develop and implement comprehensive waste management strategies for hazardous and non-hazardous waste, promoting reduction, reuse, and recycling.
- Ensure proper disposal and management of waste as per regulatory guidelines.
- Explore and implement circular economy principles within site operations.
- Water & Energy Management:
- Drive initiatives for water conservation, efficient water usage, and wastewater treatment.
- Promote energy efficiency measures and support the integration of renewable energy sources where applicable.
- Biodiversity & Community Engagement:
- Oversee biodiversity management plans and conservation efforts, especially in ecologically sensitive areas.
- Engage with local communities on environmental matters, addressing concerns and fostering positive relationships.
- Support CSR initiatives related to environmental sustainability.
- Risk Management & Emergency Preparedness:
- Identify potential environmental risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of environmental emergency response plans, including conducting drills and exercises.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of environmental professionals.
- Foster a strong environmental awareness and safety culture among all employees and contractors at the site.
- Develop and deliver environmental training programs.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build strong relationships with internal cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, HR, Legal, Safety) and external partners (contractors, vendors, consultants).
- Represent Adani at relevant environmental forums and industry associations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with sustainability reporting (e.g., as per GRI standards).
- Total Work Experience 20-25 Year of Experience.
