Overview of Role:

The Employee Experience and Engagement Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing company-wide engagement initiatives and programs that impact the employee life cycle experience. This role will be responsible for supporting graphics design requests and supporting Talent Performance and Engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Global Talent Acquisition and Engagement Director, this role will be critical in ensuring a superior employee experience in support of our company goals and culture and making National Pen a great place to work.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow in employee engagement and HR projects within an international environment.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and supports survey management for the organization which may include employee engagement surveys, participation in external surveys and various internal pulse or program surveys. Responsibilities include project management, system set-up, project planning, supporting action planning and implementation of action plan.

  • Assists with managing recognition and culture programs including oversight of the recognition platform, planning global employee engagement initiatives, project management, annual service awards coordination, and other employee events.

  • Assists with managing and continuous improvement of employee engagement programs for employee life cycle.

  • Champions a culture of learning and development, continuous improvement and keeps abreast of best practices.

  • Leads Culture Squad Team.

  • Promotes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.

  • Promotes a feedback culture.

  • Responsible for the layout, design, and production of graphic design materials.

  • Creating social media, email, and employee brand communications and campaign designs.

  • Understanding and contributing to design ideas and concepts with the National Pen employee and employer brand in mind.
  • Providing support for day-to-day work of the Engagement and people social media team.
  • Project management for Engagement initiatives. 
  • Any other duties as assigned. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: employee engagement, or visual communication/design.

  • Must be open to working in an international environment and learning cross-cultural communication. Prior global exposure is a plus but not mandatory.

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology, or a related field is preferred – not mandatory.

  • Fluent level of English language.

  • Knowledge and experience in graphic design in either agency, freelance, contract, or in-house a benefit.

  • Strong working knowledge of graphic design software, equipment, tools, techniques, and attention to detail and timelines. A portfolio (online or PDF) is a bonus.

  • Ability to follow employee and employer brand guidelines and meet deadlines.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Proven project management skills and successful execution of projects.

  • Ability to partner with internal People, Culture, and Learning team members and team members throughout the company on a global scale to ensure successful execution of projects.

  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential matters.

 

  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, influential, and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and directions.

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to support global organization.

 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • 2+ years’ experience supporting employee engagement initiatives in global organization. 

  • 2+ years’ experience supporting learning and development program. 

  • 2+ years’ experience in graphics design.
