Group Summary:

Job Responsibilities:

• Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all health and safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
• Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks. Implement and monitor control measures to reduce workplace hazards. Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Training and Education: Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees. Ensure all employees are aware of and understand health and safety policies and procedures. Promote a culture of safety through ongoing education and awareness programs.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training sessions. Ensure all emergency equipment is properly maintained and accessible.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and training activities. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies. Provide regular updates to management on health and safety performance and initiatives.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and support the health and safety team. Foster a collaborative and proactive approach to health and safety within the team and across the organization. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior health and safety staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Professional certification (e.g. CRSP) is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health and safety management software.
