ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Tester to support testing services for cybersecurity tools and measures within the DMDC environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in assessing the impact of security tools on the stability and operation of networks and computing systems, while minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth integration into the production environment. This position is onsite at Alexandria, mark Center (VA)
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation scripts for cybersecurity platforms, tools, and measures to evaluate their impact on DMDC/DHRA networks and systems.
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting and validation of TCP/IP traffic and protocol behavior using several analysis tools.
• Test and validate endpoint detection and response (EDR) and antivirus configurations, focusing on Trellix (formerly McAfee) and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Evaluate and test Tanium modules and deployments to ensure accurate endpoint visibility and compliance.
• Perform quality assurance and testing of SIEM integrations, log ingestion, and detection rule accuracy in Splunk.
• Support application security testing initiatives, ensuring secure configurations and remediation of findings.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, DevOps, and IT teams to identify trends that impact service availability and submit business process improvement metrics.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of QA documentation and Standard Operating Procedures, including test cases, bug reports, and test coverage matrices.
• Participate in security tool evaluations and POCs by designing QA frameworks and conducting performance/stress testing.
• Assist in the automation of cybersecurity QA workflows using scripting or testing frameworks where applicable.
• Support project management activities for tool upgrades or deployments, including governance processes and maintaining project plans to DMDC/DHRA standards.
• Rotational support: Provide 24x7 telephonic engineering support to conduct troubleshooting operations in the event of a network outage.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent additional professional experience).
• 8+ years of experience in information technology.
• 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity testing or related roles.
• Active Secret Clearance (Required).Hands-on experience with cybersecurity testing methodologies, automated tools, and security analysis
• Familiarity with testing in high-security environments and ensuring compliance with government cybersecurity standards
• Knowledge of cybersecurity tools (e.g. Trellix/ESS, Tanium, Microsoft Defender Endpoint, BeyondTrust)
• Proficiency in using automated testing tools and conducting independent testing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify the impact of cybersecurity tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and trends
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and present technical results to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong project management capabilities to handle testing programs, schedules, and resource planning

Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience with Ansible or related automation tools for configuration management, scripting, and deployment
• Proficient in using Microsoft Project for scheduling, tracking progress, and managing project timelines
• Experience in developing comprehensive SOPs for cybersecurity testing processes
• Knowledge of CCB (Change Control Board) submission and governance processes
