Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity

You will be at the forefront of Fonterra’s efforts to leverage our cutting-edge intellectual property portfolio. As IP Commercialisation Senior Advisor, you will support the commercialisation of IP assets across all parts of the business, providing strategic advice and operational expertise to ensure our innovations reach their full potential. You’ll work closely with internal teams across the globe and our external partners to develop IP strategies, negotiate licensing agreements, and manage compliance. You’ll be instrumental in driving a strong pipeline of commercialisation opportunities.

A few areas of focus will be to:

Develop and socialise IP strategies tailored to channels, products, customers, and partners.
Create strategic commercialisation frameworks to support successful monetisation of IP assets.
Negotiate, execute, and manage IP licensing agreements.
Build and maintain a robust IP commercialisation pipeline, identifying and positioning opportunities.
Provide valuation expertise and strategic advice on financial structures for IP commercialisation agreements.
Support teams engaging with customers to drive IP commercialisation success.
Adhere to centralised IP policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance and alignment with Fonterra’s governance framework.

You’ll bring proven expertise in commercial IP activities. You’re curious, growth-oriented, and excited by the opportunity to work on a global scale, driving innovation and creating value for Fonterra and its partners.

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge of IP commercialisation frameworks, with experience in developing commercial terms for IP commercialisation activities such as IP licensing.
Ability to develop and implement processes aligned to governance frameworks.
A strategic mindset, coupled with a collaborative approach to drive engagement and instil trust within teams and partnerships.
The ability to adapt to ambiguity, operate with a global perspective, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
