Description
The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a full-time board-certified/board-eligible transplant nephrologist to join our team on the clinician-educator or clinical-practice tracks. Faculty appointment will be depending on experience and qualifications.
The successful candidate will engage in clinical activities including but not limited to inpatient and outpatient care of posttransplant patients, pretransplant evaluation, and living donor candidate evaluation. For this specific position, the successful candidate will spearhead outreach efforts by establishing and growing pretransplant and posttransplant satellite clinics. Education and teaching responsibilities will include working with transplant nephrology fellows, general nephrology fellows, and house staff. The successful candidate will also participate in administrative activities including selection committee, quality, and operations meetings. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will engage in clinical research activities in kidney transplantation, hence prior research experience is preferred though not mandatory. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
The VUMC kidney-pancreas transplant program is a large volume transplant center in Nashville, TN which in 2022, performed 297 transplants at VUMC and an additional 18 transplants at the Nashville VA. Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree (MD or equivalent), completed a two-year general nephrology fellowship, and 1-year transplant clinical experience.
