JOB SUMMARY:

Supervise the day-to-day operations of restaurants and ensure excellent guest service.

 

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure food and beverage products meet standards and make appropriate changes when necessary
  2. Continuously improve service by evaluating service breakdowns using guest feedback, data, and behavior
  3. Communicate service breakdowns and facilitate opportunity-seeking meetings to consistently involve all Team Members in service improvements
  4. Address service breakdowns and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  5. Resolve all guest complaints and relay them to the Manager
  6. Ensure that adequate supply levels are maintained
  7. Assist with department reporting and data analysis as required
  8. Responsible for the development and maintenance of department procedures and guidelines
  9. Assist in the maintenance and development of procedures for food service and menu items for maximum guest satisfaction
  10. Prepare schedules and station breakdowns
  11. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate important information
  12. Conduct end-of-shift banking functions
  13. Assist cashier functions of voids and overrides
  14. Build relationships by greeting guests and staff with a warm, friendly verbal greeting and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude
  15. Take personal responsibility for creating an atmosphere of luck and positive energy with gestures and sustain enthusiasm from one interaction to the next
  16. Build relationships with guests
  17. Prepare prep lists
  18. Serve as communication liaison to subordinates and Assistant Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Manager
  19. Responsible for timely delivery of comp requests from VIP services and other casino departments
  20. Responsible for the complete set-up and operation of each scheduled shift
  21. Complete end-of-shift logs in a timely and accurate manner
  22. Enforce appearance standards
  23. Delight our guests with outstanding service
  24. Address Team Member performance issues and provide continuous positive coaching for the development of Team Members and appropriate corrective action when necessary
  25. Develop highly skilled, successful Team Members, set realistic and measurable service standards, and hold Team Members accountable for meeting standards
  26. Communicate and enforce company expectations, including Code of Commitment, policies, procedures, department goals, and business strategy
  27. Ensure service recoveries are executed per guidelines
  28. Train subordinates, providing each with the knowledge, development, and appropriate direction to perform their responsibilities
  29. Provide continuous positive coaching for the development of Team Members and appropriate corrective action when necessary
  30. Ensure timely and accurate performance appraisals and accurate work history entries
  31. Exhibit sound decision-making with an emphasis on motivating the team and maintaining high morale
  • Responsible for or actively participates in the initiation of personnel actions, including but not limited to interviews, training, candidate selection, terminations, performance reviews, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions
  • Monitor Team Members with cash to ensure proper cash-handling procedures 
  • Conduct a physical inventory of barware and requisition replacement items as needed
  • Ensure all Team Members are following the guidelines of the EBCI liquor laws as defined by the Tribal ABC Board
  • Monitor asset control of liquor bottles, draft and bottled beer, and wine
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A high school diploma or GED is required 
  2. An associate degree from an accredited educational institution or related field is preferred
  3. Trade certifications or training is preferred
  4. One year of supervisory experience in a hospitality environment is preferred
  5. One year of experience in the Food & Beverage industry is required
  6. RASP certification is required*
  7. Manager ServSafe certification is required**

 

*Can be completed within 30 days of the hire date

**Can be completed within 90 days of the hire date

  3. Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  1. Must be able to be on feet for an 8-hour shift
  2. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  3. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grasp items 
  4. Must be able to maneuver and tap a keg weighing 165 pounds
  5. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
  6. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  7. Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
  8. Must be able to walk, stand, or crouch on narrow and slippery surfaces
  9. Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a ten-key adding machine, PCs, fax machine, and photocopier
  10. Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality, including secondhand smoke
  11. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
