The Team Leads primary responsibilities are supporting claimers day to day tasks, and monitoring productivity and performance of each team member. This role provides strong leadership abilities, coaching & support for the team. This position must be able to identify and interpret data relating to various software, keep up to date with process changes and discuss performance goals with Music Copyright Associates and Music Copyright Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to claimers, ensuring they understand and meet process objectives, and are fully equipped to handle claims 
  • Ensure claimers are aware of their daily responsibilities, and offer additional support for those struggling with tasks such as identifying claimable content.
  • Analyze team performance data and generate regular reports for senior management, tracking progress against goals.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to minimize errors in copyright claims and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements to optimize team productivity. Monitor the effectiveness of changes and adjust strategies accordingly to achieve better results.
  • Provide ongoing training on new software tools and emerging trends, ensuring claimers can maximize their impact and stay up to date with industry best practices.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams and management, promptly addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring smooth process execution.
  • Record and report QA findings and strategic initiatives to senior management, promoting transparency and accountability.
  • Identify potential risks in the team and implement proactive measures to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project progression.
  • Interview and assess potential hires to ensure the team is staffed with capable individuals.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc tasks and work extra hours as required to contribute to the department’s success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the YouTube claiming process.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets/Docs and advanced computer fundamentals.
  • Strong data analysis, performance assessment, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and lead a team, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Strong aptitude for identifying inefficiencies and implementing strategic improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to take on challenges, manage pressure, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • In-depth knowledge of the music industry, YouTube copyrights, and copyright laws is mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and adapt to shift assignments as required.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, committed to meeting deadlines.
