What you'll do in the role:
- Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
- Design, develop, and optimize complex data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Drive innovation in data engineering by exploring new tools and techniques.
- Optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional teams in solving complex data problems and challenges.
- Act as a subject matter expert in data architecture and engineering domains.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and drive data strategy.
- Contribute to the development of the data engineering roadmap and vision.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

- Ability to effectively manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives.
- Advanced understanding of business line and discipline with some knowledge of competitive environment and other disciplines.
- Extensive experience in building and optimizing data pipelines and architectures.
- Proficiency in data warehousing and data solutions like Postgres, DB2, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Strong expertise in data modelling, data cleaning, and data transformation techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of data quality and governance best practices.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex data solutions.
- Proven ability to oversee end-to-end data processes from ingestion to consumption.
- Strong background in data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Demonstrated success in aligning data strategies with business objectives.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills to drive team performance.
- Effective communication with stakeholders to define project requirements and priorities.
- At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
