We are seeking a Process/Operations Engineer to support process optimization, equipment troubleshooting, and capital project execution within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role involves applying core engineering principles to improve system performance, resolve operational challenges, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, hands-on experience with manufacturing systems, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures under general supervision.
- Perform assignments with clear objectives, investigating a limited number of variables.
- Initiate and complete routine technical tasks related to operations and engineering.
- Act as a technical resource for equipment and systems, supporting troubleshooting and operational continuity.
- Engage in daily operations to meet production schedules and resolve equipment-related issues.
- Conduct audits of equipment performance and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with departments such as manufacturing, process development, maintenance, QA, validation, and facilities to define system requirements and recommend modifications.
- Support design, engineering, and construction projects under the supervision of project managers.
- Work with consultants, architects, and engineering firms to develop standard design documentation.
- Evaluate and critique vendor quotes for equipment modifications or installations.
- Generate basic project cost estimates and schedules.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering
OR - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Preferred disciplines: Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in GMP-regulated environments (e.g., manufacturing or engineering operations)
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical or biotech processes, including drug substance/API operations
- Understanding of control systems (input, output, control logic) and PLCs
- Experience with equipment startup, troubleshooting, and failure mode analysis
- Ability to interpret and apply GLPs and GMPs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to valves, pumps, and utility systems
- Proficiency in technical report writing and documentation in regulated settings
- Excellent self-learning capabilities and ability to leverage technology effectively
Benefits
- 8 months contract with possible extension
- 12 hours shifts, 48 hours a week
