Xpedition ECAD Layout Designer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Xpedition ECAD Layout Designer with in-depth knowledge of PCB design, Xpedition VX2.13 (or higher), and multi-layer PCB development. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, optimize, and implement high-performance printed circuit boards for cutting-edge electronic systems. This is a 3 month contract to hire and requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities:

• PCB Layout Design:
• Create complex, multi-layer PCB layouts using Xpedition VX2.13 or higher.
• Develop schematics, footprints, and component placement strategies for optimal performance.
• Ensure high-speed, RF, and mixed-signal design best practices are implemented.
• Design Optimization:
• Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management simulations to validate designs.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM), testability (DFT), and reliability.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of PCB designs into products.
• Provide feedback on electrical schematics to optimize layout designs.
• Documentation and Standards:
• Generate and maintain detailed design documentation, including fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs, and test specifications.
• Ensure all designs comply with IPC standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Tool Expertise and Process Improvement:
• Stay updated on the latest Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools and features.
• Propose and implement process improvements to enhance design efficiency and quality.
