Job Summary:
Performs technical procedures to obtain diagnostic exams of various portions of the body using recognized radiographical techniques and CT protocols to assist physicians in diagnosis of diseases and injuries with a minimum of ionizing radiation being applied. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and performs patient procedures following approved protocols.
- Performs patient examination to ensure the delivery of quality care.
- Maintains accurate departmental records.
- Prioritizes outpatients, inpatients, and ED patients to achieve ultimate outcomes.
- Maintains professional development and education.
- Contributes to the efficient operation of the department.
- Orders all supplies and keeps stock of supplies.
- Assists in the clinical training of radiologic technology students.
- Responsible for Radiation Protection for self, patients, and general public using ALARA principles.
- Responsible for checking Physician orders and ensuring appropriate documentation for all patients.
- Considers the age of the patient served, applies knowledge of growth and development and age-specific techniques through the life span (neonates/infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) in planning and implementing care.
- Demonstrates a commitment to accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.
- Competent in starting IV’s, maintain IV’s, check charts, checking orders and creatinine.
- Perform and understand significance of creatinine testing.
- Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization.
- Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
- Demonstrates a commitment to incorporating the core concepts of patient family centered care into practice (dignity, respect, information sharing, and participation).
- Demonstrates a commitment to the development and implementation of shared governance across the Organization.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum of three (3) years as staff radiographer or has taken the CT Registry.
