Summary:

The primary responsibility for this role is to facilitate and develop the training program for technical roles, including but not limited to those roles related to Maintenance, Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA), and Sanitation. This individual will act as a true partner to the technical teams to ensure training is accurate and compliant. This role will provide training on the proper use of tools and all mechanical equipment in the plant. This role is responsible for ensuring new hire success through daily tracking and by following regulatory guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibility:

There is no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide training to new and existing employees in technical roles consisting of but not limited to Maintenance, FSQA and Sanitation.
  • Maintain accurate training records and certifications for all maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Provide training in safety and tool use. Ensure employees understand proper usage of PPE and its purpose to keep them safe.
  • Provide training on Lock Out Tag Out requirements.
  • Assist in the onboarding process of employees in technical roles and that all required training is OSHA compliant.
  • Research, develop, and execute strategic, department-specific training to address specific needs in the technical lines of business.
  • Seek continuous improvement in course processes, learning content, design, delivery, and relevance.
  • Must practice Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), good manufacturing practices (GMP), and plant policies. Must comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Rules (OSHA). Must practice compliance with all state and federal food safety regulations.
  • Must effectively manage their own time.
  • Facilitate communication between the L&D team, maintenance supervisors, and operations to identify training needs and track progress.
  • Complete other assignments as deemed appropriate by manager.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

Must have a High School Diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution and 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have current or past experience with the Daily’s Training Team.

Communication Skills:

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess the skill set to effectively and clearly communicate with others within and outside of the Company. Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Must be able to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines. Bilingual is a plus.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available. A prior knowledge of the technical areas (Maintenance, FSQA, Sanitation, etc.) of Daily’s Premium Meats is ideal.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel/hold objects, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; speak, hear, taste, and smell. Employee may occasionally lift, push/pull up to forty (40) pounds.

Work Environment:

The work environment would normally be an office setting but may require trips through the entire facility which would include climate extremes.

The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required. Generally, 8 or more hours/day as scheduled by management. Normally Monday-Friday as scheduled by management and weekends if needed by operations and approved by management.
