Earn $18.47 - 22.24 (depending on experience)

Remote Position: available for candidates residing in PA, DE, FL, LA, MD, NJ, OH, TX, and VA

 

Position Details:

The Quality and COmpliance Intake Specialist plays a critical role in the Quality & Compliance Operations (QCO) department by serving as the first point of contact for all incoming reports, concerns, and inquiries. This position is responsible for accurately capturing, categorizing, and triaging information received via the QCO Helpline, email, fax, or mail. The Intake Specialist ensures that all data is entered into the QCO electronic database with precision and in a timely manner. This role requires a strong understanding of the scope of QCO services and the ability to exercise sound judgment in identifying and escalating critical issues. The Intake Specialist will collaborate closely with QCO team members and other departments across the organization to ensure appropriate and efficient case assignment and resolution.

Duties include:

  • Receive, review, and document all incoming communications to the QCO via multiple channels (helpline, email, fax, mail).
  • Accurately enter relevant information into the QCO electronic database, ensuring completeness and data integrity.
  • Assess the nature and urgency of each intake to determine appropriate triage and escalation pathways.
  • Identify and escalate critical or time-sensitive issues to QCO leadership or designated team members.
  • Assign cases to the appropriate QCO team member or delegate to the correct Merakey department/person based on the nature of the issue.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of QCO policies, procedures, and areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as a liaison between QCO and other departments to ensure timely and effective communication and resolution.
  • Monitor open intakes to ensure timely follow-up and closure.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends, gaps, or opportunities in the intake process.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or
  • High School Diploma or GED with relevant work experience required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or human services environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., fraud, waste and abuse, HIPAA, incident reporting, risk management).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic case management systems.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must have the strong communication & interpersonal skills for when interacting with helpline callers who are often not at their baseline level.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong time management & prioritization skills
  • Ability to adapt and problem solve
