Software Engineer II (DOD/NAVY)

<span><span><span><span>We are currently seeking an experienced <b>Software Engineer II</b> to play a critical and long-term role within the development, testing and security compliance of software applications for the <b>NAVY</b> customer. This position is located in <b>Indian Head, Maryland</b>, with some anticipated remote flexibility, and will support the <b>IT and Information Systems Security Division</b> within the Naval Warfare Center. </span></span></span></span><br /> <br /> <span><span><span><b><u><span>Clearance:</span></u></b><span> Active Top Secret preferred</span></span></span></span><br /> <br /> <span><span><span><b><u><span>Position Overview:</span></u></b></span></span></span> <ul> <li><span><span><span><span>Identify and document software requirements, executing application designs and developing unit test cases.</span></span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span><span>Engage deeply in software testing, developing manual and automated test plans to ensure robustness and functionality. </span></span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span><span>Participate in cybersecurity assessments and authorization processes, performing risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and supporting the accreditation requirements for RDT&amp;E Labs to achieve an Authority to Operate (ATO). </span></span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span><span>Maintain cybersecurity documents and validating security packages as per Navy standards, including evaluating system requirements against Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG). </span></span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span><span>Ensure adherence to the DISA Application Security and Development STIG APP210. </span></span></span></span></li> </ul> <br /> <span><span><span><b><u><span>Qualifications:</span></u></b></span></span></span> <ul> <li><span><span><span><span>Completed Bachelors Degree</span></span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span><span>4-7 years of relative experience</span></span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span><span>Active TS security clearance              </span></span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span><span>Strong technical foundation in software development, coupled with a rigorous approach to cybersecurity and compliance, ensuring the secure deployment and operation of software systems in a sensitive or regulated environment.</span></span></span></span></li> </ul>
