Position Summary: Under general supervision of the Employment Services Manager, provides training to people with Developmental Disabilities to assist them achieve and maintain gainful community employment. This position primarily works at a set location in Middleburgh Heights and also travels locally for other employment services related assignments.


Schedule:  Mondays - 8 am to 3 pm

                    Tuesdays - 8 am to 11 am

                    Wednesdays - 8 am to 11 am

                    Thursdays - 8 am to 12 pm

                    Fridays - 8 am to 11 am


Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for assisting people with disabilities to maintain integrated employment in the community.
  • Work with program participants to help them master the skills needed to find and maintain competitive employment in the community and assess and report on their ability to perform the assigned task.
  • Responsible for ensuring that clients are properly trained, and their training needs are met.
  • Communicate effectively with employers, employees, and the support team about the progress and barriers and what they need to do to be successful in a job and advise on workplace behavior and protocol 
  • Ensure the appropriate accommodations are made and monitor and evaluate the progress of the participants at work locations.
  • Responsible for involving appropriate support team members when consumer needs or circumstances change.
  • Maintains and organizes all consumer files; keeps updated according to CARF standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable licensure regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring all billing is accurate and submitted weekly.
  • Communicate with Employment Services Director regularly to ensure program quality.
  • Adjust work hours as required for effective operation of the program.
  • Provide direction to consumers, teach acceptable work standards and inform them when they are not meeting standards. 
  • Work in concert with employers to identify and eliminate deficiencies that are barriers to retaining employment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or some college preferred. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Will consider previous experience in lieu of an Associate's degree
  • Must have prior experience assessing clients with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and determining needs and goals
  • Superior writing skills and excellent time management skills are required
  • Successfully pass a comprehensive background check that may include a BCI and FBI criminal history check 
  • Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with less than 6 points
  • Be able to physically perform approved First Aid and CPR
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office as well as other programs and electronic devices required
