TITLE: Residential Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Operations 

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

FLSA STATUS: Exempt


Position Summary:

The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of all drivers and helpers within the residential operations. This role ensures frontline employees have the tools, instruction, and support needed for success. The Supervisor spends the majority of the day in the field, fostering positive relationships and reinforcing safety and operational standards.


Essential Functions:

  

Onboarding

  • Support new Route Managers and frontline employees with tools, instruction, and feedback.
  • Conduct daily check-ins with new hires to ensure consistent communication and onboarding success.

Developing

  • Provide regular touchpoints and feedback to frontline employees.
  • Review and share best practices to enhance performance.
  • Support career growth and goal setting for employees.

Coaching

  • Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with employees for success.
  • Practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations.

Mentoring

  • Lead by example in safety and operational excellence.
  • Teach and reinforce Tiger Sanitation’s core values: Professionalism, Respect, Accountability, and Communication.

Performance Management

  • Conduct root cause investigations for incidents and injuries.
  • Ensure consistent discipline and retraining.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation (DOT, OSHA).
  • Audit daily route operations (DVIRs, time and attendance, open work orders).
  • Visit customer sites to resolve safety issues and explore service alternatives.

Operational Oversight

  • Conduct weekly fleet walks to inspect vehicle cleanliness and mechanical condition.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip inspections and ensure required documentation is present.
  • Observe and evaluate employee performance in the field.
  • Address tasks via enterprise risk management software.
  • Investigate and document customer damage claims.
  • Maintain communication with the Operations Manager regarding audits and observations.

  • Ability to teach and enforce safe operations of DOT vehicles

Education and Experience

  

Required

  • Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License.
  • 2 years of professional commercial driving experience.


Working Conditions

  

This role operates in both office and field environments. It requires extended periods of standing, sitting, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting. Use of standard office equipment is routine. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
