Environmental Specialist

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision from the Maintenance Manager, the Environmental Specialist duties include overall custodial functions. Primary assigned location is Main and Taylor Campuses, but may work at other locations owned or operated by Clover.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Washes windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls, and ceilings.
• Orders and stocks needed materials and supplies.
• Cleans, sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors by hand or machine; cleans carpet, upholstery and furniture
• Cleans and sanitizes rest rooms, dusts and vacuums rooms, and locks and unlocks doors; moves equipment and furniture.
• Collects and disposes of waste, maintains outside sidewalks, and assists in keeping outside premises in an orderly condition.
• Setting up and taking down tables and chairs for classes and programs.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of cleaning and waxing compounds, and custodial equipment; thorough knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures.
• Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions, make routine decisions independently, sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity, and work harmoniously with others.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:

• Steam cleaners, carpet cleaners, vacuum, mops, broom, dusting equipment, outdoor lawn and garden tools and equipment.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma/GED and/or training and one (1) year experience in custodial, building maintenance or general labor.

The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.

Salary Description $16.27-$18.71/hour
