Department Overview:
The Webb Lab is part of the School of Medicine and Public Health’s Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine. Our research focuses on understanding the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying rare human genetic diseases, with the goal of advancing precision medicine approaches. The lab is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, working at the intersection of genomics, bioinformatics, and clinical research.sAnticipated Start Date:

1Qualifications:
Junior or senior majoring in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related fieldExperience using R required
Prior exposure to RNA-seq or genome sequencing (GS) pipelines is a plus, but not required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in R and ability to run scripts/programs independently
Willingness to learn and troubleshoot code or workflows
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Run and troubleshoot bioinformatics scripts in R
Assist with data processing and analysis for genomics projects
Support the maintenance and documentation of bioinformatics workflows
Potential to expand responsibilities based on interest
Physical Demands:
Primarily computer-based work; must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
