Mission: Essence of the Job


Top 3 Priorities

  1. Meet and exceed NPS and CSAT targets
  2. Event budget management that protects and improves margins
  3. Improve client retention through exceptional planning across owned accounts

Within 30 days:

  • Complete onboarding, including systems training, SOP review, and shadowing experienced team members.
  • Begin supporting live events under the guidance of an Event Manager or peer, owning tasks like timeline management, vendor outreach, or internal updates.
  • Observe client communications to learn tone, expectations, and service standards.
  • Build initial relationships with teammates, preferred vendors, and cross-functional partners (e.g., Sourcing, Product).
  • Assist with 1–2 events in progress and begin managing administrative components (budgets, notes, follow-ups).

Within 60 days:

  • Start managing 2–3 lower complexity events with light supervision, from kickoff to post-event wrap.
  • Demonstrate solid communication with vendors and clients, escalating issues when needed.
  • Learn and apply margin management best practices — ensuring spend is aligned to budget and vendor guidelines.
  • Begin contributing ideas to improve team processes, tools, or templates.
  • Participate in post-event retros and gather client feedback for NPS/CSAT improvement.

Within 90 days:

  • Independently manage a standard load of 4–6 events with minimal oversight, consistently meeting client satisfaction goals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless planning and execution, including sourcing, logistics, and client reporting
  • Show strong ownership of event details, timelines, and deliverables while balancing competing priorities
  • Be recognized by peers as reliable, detail-oriented, and client-obsessed
  • Regularly contribute feedback to refine SOPs, improve vendor relationships, and support margin improvement efforts

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with the internal event team to design, plan, and execute client events
  • Develop detailed event strategies, including budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships, ensuring top-tier service within budget constraints
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the planning process
  • Share relevant event insights and support clients in applying best practices to enhance event planning and execution.
  • Go above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer experiences, driving client retention and referrals
  • Follow and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize event planning processes
  • Provide feedback to enhance tools, systems, and workflows, contributing to our mission of building a scalable and tech-enabled organization
  • Meet or exceed event booking and profit margin goals, including upselling additional services
  • Assist in monitoring client budgets and guiding spend toward BoomPop’s preferred partners and offerings to help drive internal revenue goals.
  • Immerse your day-to-day planning operations in BoomPop’s product to help inform product development and improve the UX


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in end-to-end event management, including sourcing, vendor management, planning, coordination, execution, and budget management. 
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with vendors and venues
  • Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills 
  • Excelling in project management skills and experience in managing a high volume of tasks
  • Strong executive presence and ability to present information to a variety of senior leaders
  • Proven ability to be creative and innovative in planning in-person events
  • Hospitality experience is highly preferred 
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the year for onsite event execution, client meetings, and team collaboration.

Occasional Travel: Connecting is in our DNA, please note that we anticipate roughly 6-8 nights of travel per year for this role.


Total Compensation Package; Including Benefits and Stock:

  • Base: $60,000 - $75,000 a year; Depending on experience and qualifications
  • Bonus: $10,000 a year; Depending on business and personal milestones achieved
  • Medical, vision, dental, life: $10,000 - $16,000 a year; Depending on Individual or Family Plan
  • Equity: Our vision is to take BoomPop to the moon
