POSITION TITLE:             Inclusion Program Team Lead (Part-Time)
DIVISION:                         Monon Community Center
REPORTS TO:                    Inclusion Program Supervisor
FLSA STATUS:                   Part-time; Non-Exempt
PAY RANGE:                      Starting at $17.00 per hour

Purpose of Position:

The Team Lead will assist the Inclusion Supervisor by providing essential administrative support and actively participating in program planning, preparation, and implementation. This role involves coordinating scheduling, assisting with training, and serving as a program leader for the Inclusion team. The role requires flexibility, a proactive approach, and a commitment to inclusive recreation. The Team Lead will help ensure smooth operations of adaptive recreation programs for individuals with disabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Note: These duties are representative and not exclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Assist the Inclusion Supervisor with administrative tasks such as scheduling staff, creating programming documents, and serve as support for the inclusion team.
  • Support the development, planning, and implementation of adaptive recreation programs, camps and events, including lesson plans and activity setups.
  • Lead programs when necessary, including leading activities, managing class setups and teardowns, and maintaining participant engagement.
  • Provide information, guidance, and support to program participants and their families regarding enrollment, program details, and accommodations.
  • Help coordinate and facilitate training sessions for staff and volunteers.
  • Assist with setup and teardown of program spaces, ensuring facilities are prepared and returned to standard after activities.
  • Maintain a flexible on-site presence, working at least four days per week, including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Respond to participant and public inquiries, offering excellent customer service and escalating issues to management when appropriate.
  • Support the inclusion and engagement of participants with disabilities across all CCPR programs and events.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure effective communication and smooth program operations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate shift reports and complete all assigned tasks promptly.
  • Assist with enforcing applicable rules, regulations, and safety protocols with program participants, staff, and facility users.
  • Maintain a safe a clean work environment.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to assess situations and provide immediate, effective responses.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to operate a computer and recreation management software (e.g., ActiveNet, Formstack, Canva, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excell).
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with participants, staff, and the public.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, perform setup, teardown, and lead activities, including standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work effectively on-site and work programs requiring staffing.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in leading adaptive recreation programs or working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience in program planning, coordination, and administration preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy, Special Education, or related field preferred.
  • Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Successful completion of background checks (national, state, and local) prior to employment.
