Job Description
Purpose of your role
OFX is looking for a candidate to fill a position in its NA Compliance team. This role is ideally suited to candidates in the early to mid-stage of their Compliance career.
The Compliance Associate will work within the Compliance team and be responsible for tasks including reviewing customer risk, handling escalations into compliance from various departments within the business, preparing regulatory reporting, assisting during regulatory exams, monitoring various compliance controls and processes, and supporting the work of the Senior associates and manager(s) in the Compliance team as it pertains to the overall management of OFX’s AML/CTF/Sanction and broader payment services compliance programs.
What you'll do:
- Conduct compliance monitoring and review for escalated matters on complex transactional or customer cases to assess client risk and ongoing suitability.
- Prepare regulatory reporting and support regulatory engagements.
- Work closely across the Risk and Compliance function and with the Financial Intelligence Unit, Operations, Commercial, Finance, and Legal teams, providing advice from a Compliance perspective.
- Work closely with the Assurance and Continuous Improvements team to enhance and documents our processes and procedures.
- Contribute as a member of a global Compliance function.
- Ad hoc tasks/projects at Manager’s request.
Qualifications
What you bring:
- 3+years’ experience within audit or the financial services industry, preferably in a Compliance team
- Tertiary qualifications are not essential but will be beneficial.
- Immediately available has advantage
- The ability to perform multiple tasks and work unsupervised.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to use a number of Compliance platforms and systems.
- Have initiative and be a self-starter.
- Diligence, honesty and reliability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate with peers.
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 CAD. Exact salary offered will be dependent on multiple factors including level of experience, job-related knowledge, skills, work location, etc. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a variable bonus and/or commission. As part of the compensation package, benefits are also offered for all full-time roles and part-time roles working a minimum of 24 hours a week.
We also offer a flexible hybrid working model where employees typically work 1-2 days from one of our Edmonton office.
