Job Description

The Environmental Technician III is a key position in supervising that the details of everyday production is executed through effective communications within the team and outside teams, departments, etc. This position is a hands-on working Supervisor at a fast paced, and multi-tasking is crucial.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Maintain operational documentation to include Reports, Inspections, Procedures/policies, Incident/ Accident reporting, Productivity and order requirements
  • Supervisor will need to be trained in all operational processes, Sorting and blending of products/materials, Equipment process, Prep work
  • Supervise and communicate with shift team members and other facility team members and with corporate teams to coordinate production work
  • Monitor and audit assigned team members
  • Supervise scheduled production throughput
  • Ensure the health and safety of assigned team members and ensure that workstations meet Clean Earth’s housekeeping policies
  • Track, compile and report productivity data that includes outbound shipments.
  • Responsible for compliance throughout the facility including OSHA, EPA, RCRA, D.O.T. State, Federal and Local regulations
  • Communicate facility needs, difficulties and changes in operations to management
  • Supervise segregation and packaging material for process along with the completion of required paperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures
  • Oversee outbound loads and direct the assembly of such loads.
  • Train technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, processes and necessary paperwork.  Provide training and coaching to team members as needed
  • Follow all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in Clean Earth procedures and policies
  • Supervise and operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when properly trained to move materials for storage / loading and off-loading / production
  • Maintain records for DOT and State officials as assigned
  • Perform reasonably related tasks as assigned by management

Pay starting at $25.00 depending on experience.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of prior experience working with hazardous materials
  • Must be willing and able to wear company-provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, hard hat, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, Tyvek coveralls, and full face respirator
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Requirements:

  • Has the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift and possesses safe driving record.
  • Proficiency with Windows based programs (i.e. Excel and Word
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA Regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology or related field
