Job Description – Specialist Software Engineer

Role Description
Within Actimize, the AI and Analytics Team is developing the next generation advanced analytical cloud platform that will harness the power of data to provide maximum accuracy for our clients’ Financial Crime programs. As part of the PaaS/SaaS development group, you will be responsible for developing this platform for Actimize cloud-based solutions and to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies.
We are looking for a specialist software engineer with 8+ years of experience and a strong track record of leading the team as Scrum Master. You will play a key role in building advanced analytics Big data capabilities that power fraud prevention and Anti-Money Laundering solutions for some of the world’s largest financial institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop high quality, proficient and enterprise grade products.
- Lead as well as execute tasks as part of the development team towards the application in a committed deadline
- Guide the team in the design and implementation to achieve business goals.
- Pitch ideas & innovate continuously, take team & project to next level.
- Work and collaborate in multi-disciplinary Agile teams, adopting Agile spirit, methodology and tools.
- Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to achieve business goals.
- Implement/Improve system monitoring, alerting & observability.
- Build & maintain high available systems.
- Lead the SAFe agile ceremonies including PI Planning , Sprint Planning, retrospective etc.
- Creates the infrastructure through automation for hosting the services on AWS
- Review the code and guide the team to translate complex business requirements into technical artefacts
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/relevant course
- 7-10 years of experience working in software Industry as a software engineer (part of SW development team and not support team)
- Strong hands on development experience using Python and AWS.
- Experience with implementation of Data structure and algorithms
- In depth and hands-on experience working with AWS, with good understanding of AWS networking.
- Experience working in and driving Continuous Integration and Delivery practices using industry standard tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and Artifactory
- Must have created and deployed complex micro services on a cloud ecosystem from scratch
- Must have experience in creating docker containers and hosting the same using EKS/ECS.
- Huge advantage: Hands-on experience with AWS components like API Gateway, Glue, Lambda, Step-Function, S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, SQS, etc
- Comfortable working with high volume data in cloud.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD(Jenkins) & tools like JIRA, Confluence, Terraform
- Excellent spoken/written English. Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership
- High caliber team player, self-starter and ability to work independently.
Required Skills for the Role:
- Good understanding of software development best practices from appropriate testing paradigms to effective peer code reviews and resilient architectures
- Should have a strong sense of important architectural pillars for a cloud native system.
- Ability to plan for the program iteration (PI) as per the SAFe agile methodology.
- Display strong sense of ownership and being proactive.
- Good understanding of Cloud Security & Cloud Costing
- Prior experience with full stack SaaS, PaaS and IaC development is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in high scale, highly available (99.99+) systems
- Experience working on a Scrum Team in an Agile delivery environment.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving, troubleshooting and bug fixing skills.
- Candidate must have displayed proactiveness and ownership.
- Must have delivered the applications which are performant, resilient and efficient from cost and operations perspective
Must have Skills.
- Programming Language: Python, SQL
- AWS Compute, Storages and Services to host APIs
- Infra automation Tools: Terraform / Cloud formation.
- CI CD: Jenkins
- Version Control Systems: Git Hub
- Containers: Docker, ECS/EKS
- Operating System: Linux and Windows
- Co-pilot or equivalent GenAI tools for productivity
Good to have.

- Working knowledge of K8s, Helm
- ML Ops engineering would be plus
