The Role
The Azure Infrastructure Engineer is a key technical role responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and cost-efficient enterprise cloud solutions. With a cloud-first, secure-by-design mindset, you’ll lead automation initiatives, drive infrastructure as code practices, and help shape the future of our IT operations.
You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to modernize infrastructure, automate service delivery, and support critical operations across 7-Eleven’s business—including corporate offices and store infrastructure
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team and take ownership of designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and well-governed Azure infrastructure environments. This role demands a strong foundation in Azure governance, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices, along with a solid working knowledge of systems administration across Windows, Linux, and Active Directory environments.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing cloud frameworks aligned with the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework, developing policies, and implementing automation to support enterprise-scale cloud adoption and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Azure governance frameworks including policy design, naming conventions, tagging strategies, cost management, and compliance monitoring.
- Define and enforce Azure Policy and management group hierarchies across enterprise subscriptions.
- Build AI-driven and automated self-service provisioning solutions using tools such as Azure Automation, Azure Open AI, and Logic Apps.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using PowerShell, Bicep, and Terraform.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, and security teams to ensure alignment with Microsoft’s Well-Architected Framework and enterprise standards.
- Support and enhance BAU (Business-as-Usual) Azure infrastructure operations, including monitoring, patching, and environment lifecycle management.
- Apply foundational systems administration skills across Windows, Linux, and Active Directory to troubleshoot and support cloud-hosted workloads.
- Continuously improve internal processes, reusable templates, and automation patterns to drive operational efficiency.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead technical workshops, and participate in architecture review sessions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Solid hands-on experience with Azure Policy, management groups, and enterprise governance models (Blueprints experience is a bonus but not required).
- Strong understanding and practical application of the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework.
- Experience building Azure landing zones, automation templates, and self-service environments.
- Proficient in scripting with PowerShell, Bicep, and familiar with Terraform.
- Strong understanding of core Azure services – compute, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, and security.
- Familiarity with or exposure to AI-driven automation in Azure (e.g., OpenAI, Logic Apps, ChatOps).
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for infrastructure deployments.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administration, along with Active Directory fundamentals.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
