What “Application Engineer” contributes to Cardinal Health
This position is looking for an Application Engineer responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions for Post Sales Discount (PSD) application suite and ancillary applications which support sales operations to calculate and give post sales discounts to our customers. You’ll play a critical role in coding, testing, deployment and ongoing support part of talented onsite/offshore commercial IT app team in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure Coding: Write secure, efficient, scalable and maintainable code for frameworks using core language as .NET, C#, html5, Java, Javascript and backend in MSSQL, MySQL.
- Implement RESTful APIs, interfaces for seamless integration with other systems.
- Deployment: Prepare releases and deploy applications on Google Cloud or AWS platforms.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate production issues through log analysis and fix bugs in existing systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for efficiency and continuous improvement in development processes.
- Documentation: Create detailed functional and technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Testing: Conduct unit testing, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production Acceptance Testing (PAT).
- Post-Production Support: Provide live support post-production to ensure system stability.
- Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate and Share knowledge with team members both onsite and offshore to build a strong technical team.
- Innovation: Bring new ideas and innovative solutions to the team.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on .Net, C#, html5, Java, Javascript, MSSql, MySQL technologies.
- Good working knowledge about JS/HTML/CSS
- Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
- Experience in development and deployment in a cloud environment – GCP or AWS
- Expertise in writing secure and efficient code.
- Experience in investigating and resolving production issues.
- Strong documentation skills and experience with unit testing, UAT, and PAT.
- Excellent communication in Japanese.
- Innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
Preferred:
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD processes.
- Knowledge on Atlassian tools such as Jira, confluence
- Language – Bilingual preferred in both Japanese and English
- Ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment.
