Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to:
- Leading media monitoring and firm-wide media coverage distributions.
- Supporting media engagement tracking and market and peer research and analysis.
- Developing internal reports and presentations that provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of media engagement.
- Supporting the broader Corporate Communications & Marketing team on presentations and other critical materials for senior-level stakeholders.
- Collaborating with External Communications team in the design and execution of tailored media relations programs that promote investment team priorities.
- Drafting communications (press releases, media talking points, Q&A, etc.) with exceptional eye for detail
- Facilitating review of work product with internal and external stakeholders, including Ares Legal and Compliance.
- Learning key skills in proactive and reactive media engagement, issues management and brand promotion.
- Managing multiple projects and tasks with business-critical deadlines.
- Delivering fresh ideas, produce high-quality work and drive results.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, communications or journalism.
Experience Required:
- 7–10 years of experience
- Working in a Communications or Media Relations role
General Requirements:
- Detail-oriented
- Experience at a regional, national, or global financial services firm
- Self-starter, outstanding communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with “the team”
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and digital literacy
- Strong command of Microsoft Office 365 Suite, especially PowerPoint
