About the job
Logistics Manager is to ensure our Logistics Services in Japan, which includes warehousing, transport & clearance, are operated according to our defined Service Level Agreement (SLA)’s and rates and business & commercial requirements are met.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure all logistics activities in the Japan warehousing, transportation and after sales are on time, meeting cost targets and defined service levels.
- Act as the main interface with our Third-Party Logistics (3PL) operations and all internal stakeholders in Japan.
- Initiate, implement and operate continuous improvement projects (CIP) of all logistics operations activities in alignment with local stakeholders.
- Implements KPIs measuring and assessing 3PL’s service level accordingly; address service failures and ensure countermeasures are implemented.
- Responsible for compliance for all customs-related processes and liaising with local customs. Ensure compliance in management and storage of import/ export customs documents as required by local regulation.
- Ensure proper storage of materials and timely fulfilment with competent development of technologies and capacities as and when required. Improve inventory storage turnaround as and when required.
- In charge of all logistics related cost management including budget preparation, invoice audit and approval, cost analysis as and when rates changes, negotiation with 3PL as and when required.
- Maintains appropriate, detailed process documentation, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and ensure it is updated regularly as business processes changes across all logistics operations in warehousing, transportation and brokerage.
- Selection and evaluation of 3PLs for logistics operations locally, including drafting the scope of work, market benchmarking and competition evaluation, to ensure 3PLs utilized are competitive.
- Lead and contribute to local and regional projects as per assignment and requirement from the company.
About you
We are looking for a unique and amazing talent, who brings along the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any Business studies.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain or transportation management.
- Experience with inventory management, shipping/receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Analytical thinking and ability to work with logistics metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, cost per shipment).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Local language and English proficiency skills.
