ABOUT THE TEAM
The Portfolio Management team supports directly the Real Estate Investment team. This includes the preparation of corporate and asset management reporting, business planning and capital planning oversight, sustainable investment reporting and pipeline oversight. The team is also responsible for the development of dashboards, ensuring data governance and performing system administration.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
The Manager will lead the development and optimization of dashboards and reporting tools to support portfolio monitoring and asset management activities. This role involves overseeing the creation and implementation of advanced data products that enhance analytical capabilities across the organization. The Manager will ensure the accuracy and integrity of portfolio data used in strategic reporting, while also driving initiatives related to sustainability, annual capital planning, development project oversight, and debt management.
In addition to managing a team or cross-functional contributors, the incumbent will provide strategic direction on data and technology landscapes, ensuring seamless data flow between systems and alignment with business objectives. The Manager will act as a key liaison for stakeholders, delivering timely insights and updates, and will lead responses to ad-hoc analytical requests with a focus on actionable outcomes. This role requires a strong ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions, foster innovation, and support continuous improvement across asset management functions.
Technology and Analytics
Act as the system owner for the Real Estate technology stack, overseeing user profiles, access management, license requests, and staff changes
Ensure the ongoing evolution of the iLevel platform for Real Estate, ensuring discrepancies are resolved and new/changing needs are identified and addressed in a timely manner, delivery monthly productions to the team
Foster a close collaborative relationship with the Portfolio Strategy team, identify opportunities to support and collaborate on analytics initiatives, delivering time savings and value-add output in a timely manner
Develop a refreshed reporting suite for the Real Estate team, reviewing and cauterizing legacy reports, consolidating, clarifying, and deploying new dynamic reporting and analytics for Investment and Management teams
Portfolio Data Initiatives
Oversight of the asset data collection process: ensure timely and accurate submissions in collaboration with Investment Team and external partners, ensure completeness of portfolio data coverage for out-of-scope partnerships, and facilitate onboarding of new General Partners
Oversight of the Portfolio Sustainability process: develop, implement, and operationalize ESG data governance activities and controls in collaboration with the investment teams and SCI; collaborate with internal business partners and real estate team to support activities related to Sustainability Business Plan Initiatives
Participate in PSP Enterprise Data initiatives to streamline reporting and advocate the needs of the Real Estate Group
Data Oversight
Oversee the data management program, ensuring the data governance framework is adhered to, that data migration activities are facilitated efficiently, and that internal stakeholders’ needs are considered
Ensure that the investment structure of the portfolio is accurate and maintained across platforms
Contribute to the evolution of the Real Estate Data Governance Framework, ensure system evolutions and new requirements are incorporated
Change Management and Client Relationships
Foster and sustain relationships with key business partners to maintain clear communication, ensure accurate information flow, and provide precise reporting and data as needed for internal and external purposes
Design an onboarding framework for technology and systems, including creating presentation materials, schedules, and agendas for training new real estate employees
Leadership
Supervise the tasks of the Data Analytics Analyst and Data Quality Analyst, ensuring proper upkeep of our existing systems; make decisions in intricate situations and evaluate all collateral effects of planned improvements
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Key Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Snowflake, Excel, PowerBI
Programming knowledge: Python, SQL, or equivalent an asset
Understanding of data lifecycle, data lineage, and system integration
Strong research and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills in English and French
Organisational rigour and attention to detail
Commitment to continuous improvement and quality delivery
Key Experiences
Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology Management, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent
Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in institutional environments preferred
Knowledge of institutional investments, specifically real estate, and front and back-office environments
Experience in information technology or information systems, data and project management
